"It is not possible for the truly non-violent man simply to ignore the inherent falsity and inner contradictions of a violent society. On the contrary, it is for him a religious and human duty to confront the untruth in that society with his own witness in order that the falsity may become evident to everyone."

BANNER 1

Campaign Summary

The "Banners for Peace" campaign is a volunteer based arts initiative creating billboard size banners in the name of peace. Each giant canvas will be decorated with an inspirational self-reflective slogan and a unique design. The aim of this project is to actively engage the diverse communities of the Bay Area in the hands-on participation in the creative arts. Banners will be painted on location with schools, non-profit organizations, and community groups around greater San Francisco.

This project utilizes the power of visual art and individual self-expression to assist us in breaking through the barriers of our resistance to sharing love and behaving as mindful human beings.

"Banners for Peace" is an evolutionary map: art-in-action as a platform from which to learn about our selves while participating in the hands-on creation of these giant banners. This is a campaign for peace. The intention is to create works of art that will spark original thought, inspire self-reflection, and avail educational experiences for both participants and audience alike.

"Banners for Peace" is a Now Art Experience. Participation and interaction occurs without comparison, evaluation, judgment, or discrimination. This is non-violent communication and compassion for all man through art from the heart.

Peace, Love, Om Shanti
