Artists Bio for Ross Holzman
In the last three years I've stepped into the most prolific phase of artistic development in my life. Having grown up in Cleveland and schooled in Ohio, this transformational phase of my life blossomed out of a year spent working in India and trekking in Nepal. Upon returning to the states I experienced a major shift in consciousness in which my passion for creative exploration has evolved. For me; self-expression leads to self-awareness. From this deepened state of understanding a connection to the universal truth necessary to assist mankind in curing our suffering becomes accessible. It is my aim to use art as the inspiration for the re-education of the human mind. As a political and social art activist, my art is a powerful blend of mixed media collage, painting, and writing designed to challenge the viewer's thoughts about events of the present and the recent past; mainly the state of war in the world, the destruction of the environment, and the influence of the news being presented by the media, by offering a new perspective to ponder. My art is created to spark mindfulness, offered as an invitation, to change the behavior being displayed by the human population. As an avid writer, and poetic philosopher, I've been writing screenplays, and crafting poetry since college in 1994. I am currently editing my first novel; a self-realization fantasy story, political and social commentary, and philosophical poetic manifesto. My art is my life, the expression of my truth. Om Shanti. This is a non-profit, volunteer-based arts initiative in the name of peace. For information about participation, arranging a collaborative team, or getting involved in the evolution of the "Banners for Peace" campaign, please write to neobeatrevolutionofthemind@yahoo.com Your support for this grass-roots arts initiative is greatly appreciated.
